How to Determine your Ring Size

How to Determine Your Ring Size

How often have you come across a stunning ring, only to realize that it doesn’t quite fit like it should? Whether you’re aiming to get a thoughtful gift for a loved one or simply spoiling yourself with a new accessory, getting the right ring size is essential to ensure a secure and comfortable fit. Here at Selsela, we understand the importance of a snug fit, which is why we’ve set up this comprehensive guide to determining your ring size with ease. Follow these simple steps, and you’ll be well on your way to find the ring of your dreams.

Measure Your Finger at Home

  1. Take a string, floss, or a thin piece of paper and wrap it around the base of the finger you’re measuring.
  2. Use a pen to mark where the string overlaps.
  3. Place the string or the piece of paper along a ruler (a measuring tape works as well) and note down the length in millimeters.
  4. To find the diameter of your finger, take the length you measured and divide it by pi (3.14).
  5. Use the size chart below to determine your ring size according to standard measures.

Measure your Finger Using a Ring Sizer

Ring measurement tools will get you the most accurate measurement of your ring size. There’s a diverse set of options available online, and they tend to be affordable. Keep in mind that your fingers can swell throughout the day, so make sure to measure in the afternoon or evening when they are at their largest.

Slide the tool comfortably onto the finger you intend to wear the ring on — make sure it’s not too tight. Slide the sizer down until you reach a ring size that fits snugly. The tool should be able to slide on and off easily without feeling loose or tight, and it should give you an idea of what a ring with this size would feel like. This would be your ideal size for rings on that particular finger.

Tip: It’s good to measure both hands, as ring sizes may very slightly between fingers. Use the larger of the two measurements to ensure a good fit.
